In the beginning there was HTML and it was good. HTML needed a helper, so JavaScript was created. All was well, until the web developer was tempted by evil and created scrolling marquees and hijacked the back button. JavaScript earned a position as the most obnoxious web technology, to be second only to Flash. JavaScript was destined to be nothing more than a hack and just as much a programming language as the chess club is a sport.
